My
work is influence by the modern society that surrounds us. Buildings,
machines, computers, and the continuous flux of our environment.
I look at heavy industry and items that our civilisation constructs.
I am fascinated by its continual degeneration and renewal. I
use industrial processes, materials and ways of fabrication, which
are not usually found in the traditional Gold & Silversmithing
domain. I then combine them with more traditional techniques to
form my objects. These objects are fitted and fixed together with
methods like binding, interlocking, lacing and slotting of the
component parts. I also draw upon found objects that carry a history,
which I usurp and bring into another context. |
