Michelle Cangiano’s work combines observations from the plant, human and mechanical worlds to create pieces that are grouped in a series and run in limited editions.

My work is made up of individual pieces produced in limited editions, with each piece belonging to a small series. Inspiration for my work comes in many sources. Whether I am studying repetitive patterns found in nature or observing everyday objects from the past or present, my aim is to create shapes that have their own identity. A Fine Art background greatly influences the way my work is made and I always start with the working and reworking of drawings and collages. My work is governed by this process and it is during these drawings that scale, quantity and techniques such as embossing and oxidising are finalised.
