'Lollies'
Jewellery
like lollies ... I like to play with colours and shapes - drawing
with metal and colouring it through the application of layers
of enamel. This family of jewellery remind me of the watercolour
paint pallets that I played with when I was a little girl - splashes
of my favourite colours. It was fun.
'The
hearts'
Interestingly,
many philosophers have come to the conclusion, through thought,
that love is the most important thing, the centre cog of our existence
as human beings. Within this commonality though, each heart seems
different, with its own stories from the past and dreams for the
future. These hearts are made with this in mind. Fused and beaten
silver is concealed, sometimes only suggestively, with the hard
protective coating of enamel. Enamel
is a very particular substance. If dropped on hard ground the
enamel will shatter, but underneath, the silver core of these
hearts will not break. |
