Plants
as a motif have permeated my work in different series and are
a subject I continue to relate to, as for me they define place,
life and death. They act as metaphors for human growth. At the
moment they are helping me define my sense of place, of belonging
to an area, habitat or landscape.
The visual ideas behind my work relate to importent themes in
my personal life, these being the environment around me both natural
and man made and the concepts, philisophies, and histories attached
to the human condition.
I
aim to make work that is wearable, visually strong and that provokes
in the wearer and viewer a need for response, for an interaction
of some kind. I’m motivated to create work that retains
its vitality and allows the possibility for long term attachment
that outlasts its novelty or newness.
