Bin Dixon-Ward

A graduate of RMIT Gold and Silversmithing, Bin has exhibited in Australia, Europe and North America and is the recipient of several awards for her jewellery. Recent exhibitions include, Melbourne Now, Schmuck, A Fine Possession at the Powerhouse Museum and most recently her solo exhibition at Craft Victoria GRIDS. Her work is held in public and private collections including the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne, The Powerhouse Museum, Sydney, and Musée des Arts Décoratifs, (The Louvre) Paris. Bin is currently undertaking a PhD by project at RMIT. Her topic explores the urban grid through jewellery and small objects.

Made using the digital technologies of CAD and 3D printing, this collection explores abstractions of the city street grid. While the grid appears ridged and unyielding, its geometry shifts and changes with the daily use of millions of people as they traverse the streets and lanes and as the built environment evolves and the city morphs over time.
