Robyn Clarke

My jewellery practise is about combining materials, angled surfaces and different surface treatments and colour. I like to create jewellery and objects with pleasing textural and light variances that attract the eye, and hopefully inspire curiosity.

The ‘Crushed’ series of work is a reflection of my pleasure in the fabrication process. Forging a perfect cylinder from a flat sheet of metal, then through the controlled application of pressure, creating tactile, sculptural and wearable forms. It is an allegorical collection which expresses my experience that more interesting and beautiful forms can emerge from pressure, in unique and unpredictable ways.
